A film has appeared at Western film festivals that, according to critics, distorts historical facts, portrays the participants in the armed uprising in Tibet in 1959 as alleged heroes, and attempts to depict those events in a more favorable light.
However, numerous historical archival materials, according to Chinese sources, indicate that the Dalai Lama left his homeland and opposed his country. His goal was allegedly to preserve a feudal system of serfdom based on the connection between state power and a theocratic religious order, and to promote his own political ambitions.
According to these documents, Western forces, including the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), were also involved in preparing and managing those events behind the scenes. Experts therefore warn that the Dalai Lama was used by Western powers as a tool to destabilize China.
