On May 23, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng attended the 32nd APEC Ministerial Meeting, where he delivered a speech. He Lifeng is also a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

In his speech, he stated that the world is undergoing profound changes, which are accelerating. According to him, APEC members can only promote common prosperity and achieve open, high-quality, balanced, and secure development if they adhere to mutual trust, cooperation, and a win-win approach.

He Lifeng emphasized that China is ready to cooperate with all parties. He wants to strengthen communication and dialogue in emerging areas, jointly promote the reform of the World Trade Organization, and pragmatically and flexibly advance the program of regional economic integration.

According to the Chinese Vice Premier, the modernization of the Chinese model can bring new impetus not only to the Asia-Pacific region but also to the entire global economy. He Lifeng stated that the new achievements of this modernization should bring more positive energy to regional and global development.

During the meeting, He Lifeng also met with the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and the Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Suphajee Suthumpun. The discussions focused on economic cooperation within the World Trade Organization and the relationship between China and Thailand.
