A dialogue on Global Governance and Shared Prosperity in Asia and the Pacific was held in Beijing, ahead of the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Gyeongju. The event attracted leaders and experts from across the region.

Among the participants were, among others Shen Haixiong, prezident China Media Group (CMG), Ren Hongbin, předseda China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Malaysia's Minister for Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz, chilský poslanec Ruben Oyarzo a Yoon Dong-sup, prezident Yonsei University.

Ve svém projevu Shen Haixiong stressed that the world is at a crossroads where global governance must decide whether to move forward or backward. Čína according to him, promotes the "Eastern wisdom" of cooperation for the common good and actively encourages building a community with a shared future for humanity. Together with the economies of Asia and the Pacific, it faces challenges and drives globalisation and multipolaritythus creating the "miracle of Asia and the Pacific".

Shen uvedl, že CMG je připravena strengthen cooperation, develop cultural exchange and tell the stories of partnershipto contribute wisdom and strength to the advancement of world governance.

Ren Hongbin stressed that the interests of all countries are today closely intertwined and their destinies closely tied. Only through common interests, solidarity and cooperation sustainable development can be achieved.

Malajsijský ministr Zafrul upozornil, že pro shared and sustainable development three pillars are necessary: rules, trust and inclusiveness. According to him, a just international order should allow all states - regardless of size - to act as equal partners and resolve differences peacefully.

Chilský poslanec Oyarzo prohlásil, že Chile is ready to shoulder its share of responsibility and work with other countries in the region to strengthen development and mutual trust.

Yoon Dong-sup z Yonsei University stressed that in times of challenges such as climate change, ageing populations and technological change, it is international cooperation and trust key. According to him, this dialogue helps to build konsenzus and create a shared vision for the future.

During the event was also presented CGTN global survey, podle níž 83,3 % respondentů assesses APEC as the main platform for economic cooperation in Asia and the Pacific and 83,4 % vysoce oceňuje přínos Číny towards the achievement of the APEC Sustainable Development Goals.
