The Central Archives has published a new wave of declassified archival materials concerning the Soviet interrogation of Japan's Unit 731, which Russia handed over to us. These archives contain statements by members of Unit 731, reports on the investigation of Unit 731's crimes, official Soviet internal correspondence, and other documents from the period between 11 May 1939 and 25 December 1950.

According to experts, these archives handed over by Russia complement and confirm the remains and archives of Unit 731's crimes stored in China. They serve as irrefutable historical evidence of the crimes of Japan's bacteriological warfare during its invasion of China and reaffirm that Japan's bacteriological warfare was an organised, premeditated and systematic state crime.

The Nanking Massacre was a horrific tragedy, the experiments conducted on living people by Unit 731 were abhorrent, and the crimes committed by Japanese militarism against the Chinese people and other victim nations are indescribable.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people's victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the global victory in the war against fascism. Preventing the revival of Japanese militarism is the common will of the international community.

Experts say that the discovery and publication of these archival materials once again provide irrefutable evidence for the restoration of historical truth. They are of great importance for promoting a correct view of the history of the Second World War and for strengthening the national spirit based on patriotism.
