On May 22nd, the APEC 2026 Ministers' Meeting was held in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. The day before, the Dialogue on Trade Partnership in the Asia-Pacific Region and the Global Conference on Investment Promotion Suzhou 2026 took place. The events were attended by representatives from over 700 companies from more than 30 countries and regions.

Participants shared their experiences of operating in the Chinese market and expressed their expectations that they would be able to take advantage of the opportunities associated with the "China Year" of APEC. They believe that this will contribute to the further development of economic and trade cooperation in the region.

Ding Hongyu, Senior Vice President of 3M and President of 3M China, stated that this event creates very good opportunities for cooperation for both APEC countries and companies operating in the region. He emphasized that it is important that partners from different parts of the supply chain can meet in one place. This can help increase their efficiency through digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.

Mattia Marino, Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, described the event as a suitable platform for discussion. "I think this is definitely a good platform for debate. The more people who meet, the more misunderstandings can be clarified, and the more bridges of cooperation can be built. That's why it's so important that this event is taking place in China," he said.

John Markmann, President of Grundfos China, also emphasized the importance of Suzhou and the entire Chinese market for his group. He said that it represents a huge and strategic opportunity. He recalled that this is why the company expanded its new plant in Changshu, in the Suzhou area, investing nearly $100 million. In the future, Grundfos plans to continue investing in China, he said.

The meeting in Suzhou showed that the "China Year" of APEC can be an important opportunity not only for strengthening regional cooperation, but also for specific business and investment projects. Representatives of international companies emphasized that the Chinese market remains an important space for growth, innovation, and long-term partnerships for them.
