In the Czech Republic, 8,862 companies were established in the first five months of the year, an increase of 29 percent year-on-year. This is the highest increase in this period since 2017. From January to the end of May, 16,283 companies were established, 15 percent more than in the same period last year. 7,421 companies were dissolved, an increase of 1 percent year-on-year. Sales of energy drinks in the Czech Republic have been growing in recent years, according to retailers. This is also confirmed by data from the Union of Manufacturers of Non-Alcoholic Beverages, which states that energy drinks accounted for 4 percent of the total non-alcoholic beverage market last year, compared to 3 percent five years ago. The majority of sales are of branded energy drinks, but they are mainly purchased by people aged 25 to 35. Younger consumers, on the other hand, prefer cheaper private label brands, which are often available for as little as ten crowns. The Minister of Health, Adam Vojtěch, stated on Tuesday that he supports a ban on the sale of energy drinks to children under 16.
As of June 26th, the new address datovka.gov.cz came into effect, which will gradually replace the existing data box portal. The main change for users is that passwords saved in the browser will no longer work – on the new domain, they will need to be re-entered or use the Citizen Identity. The change will also affect notifications that users receive in their email inboxes.
In Doksany, in the Litoměřice region, the temperature record for the Czech Republic was broken on Sunday, June 28th, with a value of 41.9 degrees Celsius. This is the first official measurement of a temperature exceeding 41 degrees in the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute's network, and almost all long-term meteorological stations recorded a new record for June and for the specific day. Similar records were broken on the same weekend in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, and Slovakia, which is increasing the pressure on electricity consumption due to air conditioning.

The interest of domestic industry in participating in the planned supply chain is growing in connection with the planned cooperation between the energy group ČEZ and the British company Rolls-Royce SMR, and signals that the next generation of nuclear energy could create a significant number of contracts for Czech engineering and technology companies in the coming years.
