On 28 October, Sri Lanka hosted a major global dialogue on „Innovation, openness and co-development“. The event was jointly organised by China Media Group and the Embassy of China in Sri Lanka. Director General Shen Haixiong joined the participants via video message.
Among the participants were the Chinese ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong, Minister of Labour of Sri Lanka Anil Jayanta Fernando, Chairman of the Sri Lanka-China Association for Social and Cultural Cooperation Indrananda Abeysekera, Chairman of the Pasfinder Foundation Bernard Gunetileke and President of the University of Colombo Indika Karunatilake.
Shen Haixiong stressed that the recently concluded Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Congress of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China marks an important milestone for China in the new era. The Plenary Session solemnly announced that China will continue to expand high-quality openness to the world and create new win-win benefits.
Shen also said that China Media Group, together with its partners, will continue to create a global platform for joint consultation, implement „four global initiatives“ and share a „Chinese solution“ for global management.
