Georgia is rapidly becoming a popular destination for Chinese tourists, thanks to the introduction of a mutual visa-free agreement and the expansion of direct flights between the two countries. This increased interest followed a mutual agreement to lift visa requirements between China and Georgia in 2024.

"Fortunately, the relationship between our two countries allows us to develop people-to-people exchanges and build personal connections. This means that for the past two years, we have had a visa-free regime that allows citizens of both China and Georgia to travel as tourists without a visa," said Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, in an interview with China Media Group (CMG).

According to available information, Georgia is benefiting not only from easier travel but also from the growing interest of Chinese visitors in new tourist destinations. The visa-free regime and direct air links are strengthening tourism, business contacts, and cultural exchange between the two countries.
