BEIJING, September 26 – The Chinese state-run news agency Xinhua opened an exhibition on Thursday featuring photographs documenting the historical transformation of the country over the past decades.

The exhibition was held at the National Financial Information Center in Beijing just a few days before October 1, when the People's Republic of China will commemorate its 75th anniversary.

Nearly 500 photographs from various historical periods are on display, selected from Xinhua's collection of over 10 million images, which is the largest photo archive in the country.
