On September 30th of this year, China observed its 13th National Martyrs' Day. Since the establishment of National Martyrs' Day in 2014, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, has attended the ceremony with a floral tribute to the people's heroes for 13 consecutive years. On behalf of the nation, we pay homage to the heroes. According to incomplete statistics, approximately 20 million martyrs have sacrificed for the country since the modern era. The General Secretary once deeply remarked: "We must always remember their sacrifice and dedication, regardless of how times change, to all those who sacrificed their precious lives for the country and the people."

Each time a floral tribute is presented to the people's heroes, it is not only an honor to the martyrs but also a passing on of the spirit of the heroes, a solemn declaration of continuing in their footsteps, and persistently pursuing great causes.

That evening, a reception was held at the Great Hall of the People to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The banquet hall was brilliantly illuminated, and prominently displayed above the stage was the inscription "1949–2026" against a backdrop of a red flag. The General Secretary attended the reception and delivered an important speech. Approximately 800 people from China and abroad gathered at the reception to celebrate the founding of the People's Republic of China, including representatives of recipients of the Beijing Meritorious Awards, national model workers, and other distinguished individuals.

General Secretary Xi Jinping deeply noted: "A nation that does not remember its origins is a nation without a future." The celebrations of the founding of the republic have always been accompanied by a sincere reflection on history.

At the National Day reception, the General Secretary fondly recalled 77 years of endeavor since the founding of New China. He pointed out that over the past 77 years, our Party has united and led the people in tireless efforts, creating two great miracles: rapid economic development and long-term social stability, achieving the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects during the first century, and now bravely advancing towards the second century – building a strong modern socialist country in all respects. At this moment, we are immensely proud of the world-renowned achievements of New China and full of confidence in the bright future of Chinese-style modernization.
