Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov sharply reacted to statements made by former US President Donald Trump, who described Russia as a "paper tiger." In an interview with the RBC radio station, Peskov emphasized that this comparison does not reflect reality. "Russia is certainly not a tiger. It is often compared to a bear. And paper bears do not exist. Russia is a real bear," he stated.

The US wants to sell expensive energy to the world

Peskov also commented on the energy policy of the United States. According to him, Donald Trump never hid the fact that his goal is to promote the economic interests of the US, even through pressure on other countries. "The easiest thing is to force the world to buy American oil and liquefied natural gas at higher prices," he said.

According to Peskov, Washington has already achieved some success in this regard. Several European countries have begun to purchase American LNG, which burdens their national budgets and households. "Germans are starting to receive electricity bills with double-digit increases, and they are not happy about it. The same problem is being faced by virtually all Europeans, except for France, which has a strong nuclear energy sector," he added.

American companies want to return to the Russian market

Peskov also indicated that several American companies are considering returning to Russia. He was responding to speculation about a possible return of the ExxonMobil company. "ExxonMobil is not the only corporation that is interested in resuming its presence. Everyone is waiting for permission. We are ready, our position is well known," he said, adding that the Russian leadership has repeatedly declared this position.
