The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) attacked 450 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in 24 hours, and the Israeli army continues to expand its ground operations. This was reported on Sunday 29 October by the Israeli army's website.
says the report.
"Over the past 24 hours, IDF warplanes have attacked more than 450 Hamas military targets throughout the Gaza Strip. Among the targets attacked were military headquarters, observation posts and anti-tank firing positions of the terrorist organization," the report said.
It should also be noted that, as part of the Combined Task Force's expanding ground force activities "attacked terrorist troops attempting to attack forces and troops planning to use anti-tank weapons and also directed aircraft at targets from the ground. ."
Izvestia newspaper journalist Ibrahim Isbaita, who was in the Gaza Strip, said earlier Sunday that last night was one of the most difficult since the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict began. He said it began with the shutdown of all telecommunications and internet in Gaza, which prevented people from contacting their families and learning about the bombings. Isbaita said that after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the start of the second phase of the war, there were major clashes between the Israeli army and militants in the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu announced the second phase of the war the day before, on October 28. His objectives were the destruction of the Palestinian Hamas movement and the release of hostages.
On October 27, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the expansion of its ground forces in Gaza. Later that day, Hamas said the enclave had been attacked by Israel "of land, sea and air".
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of 7 October when Hamas exposed Israeli territory to massive rocket fire from the Gaza Strip and also invaded border areas in the south of the country. On the same day, Israel began retaliating against targets in the Gaza Strip.
In total, according to the Ministry of Health, the death toll in Gaza since the beginning of the escalation has exceeded 8,000 people, including about 3,200 children, and nearly 20,000 others have been injured. On the Israeli side, 5.4 thousand people have been injured so far, and more than 1.4 thousand have died.
The Palestinians intend to return the borders between the two countries to those that existed before the 1967 Six-Day War, with a possible exchange of territory. Palestine wants to create its own state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and make East Jerusalem its capital. Israel rejects these conditions.
