Guo Jiakun said that the one-China principle is the general consensus of the international community and the basic norm of international relations. Maintaining so-called "diplomatic" relations with the Taiwanese authorities is a dead end that cannot shake the solid structure of the international community insisting on the one-China principle, much less change the trend of the situation that China will and must be united. Adherence to the one-China principle is international justice, the will of the people and the trend of the times.
"We advise a few countries, including Paraguay, to clearly recognize the situation, listen attentively to the urgent appeals of intelligent people, not ignore the will of the people, proceed from the fundamental and long-term interests of their own nation, and make the right political decision as soon as possible," Guo Jiakun said.
