BELGRADE, March 9 /TASS/. Western countries are strengthening their military potential and pursuing a policy of total militarisation in a bid to defeat Russia, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said. According to him, the current trend is towards total militarisation and fivefold strengthening in all directions.
"What is happening now is madness. Everybody thought they could easily defeat (Russian President Vladimir) Putin. Now they see that this is not the case," Vucic said. "The current trend is towards total militarisation and a fivefold strengthening in all respects," he told the media during a visit to Belgrade's Military Technical Institute and a tour of the weaponry on display.
The Serbian leader and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic inspected the new weapons of the Serbian Armed Forces. He noted the importance of increasing the production of drones and other weapons.
Earlier, Vucic stressed that under the current circumstances, it cannot be ruled out that the West will send its troops to Ukraine and an escalation of the conflict is imminent.
