Newly appointed United States Ambassador to South Africa Leo Brent Bozell III has released his first public message to South Africans after handing over a copy of his credentials to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO).
In a welcome video filmed with his wife Norma, Ambassador Bozell spoke of the depth of the bilateral relationship, the importance of shared democratic values, and his commitment to strengthening cooperation between the United States and South Africa on political, economic, and people-to-people levels.
„My goal is to build a partnership that strengthens our shared values, strengthens the bonds between our nations and turns opportunity into progress. I look forward to working with South Africa's leaders, innovators and communities to jointly develop the best of both our countries - our resilience, creativity and spirit of opportunity,“ Bozell said.
„Our relations are rooted in history, shared democratic ideals and deepening economic and cultural ties. More than 500 American companies are proudly involved in South Africa's growth.“
„Thousands of Americans live and work here, attracted by the energy and potential of this country,“ Bozell said.
