At a press conference in Brussels on 19 December, European Council President António Costa said that European Union leaders had approved a resolution to provide €90 billion in support to Ukraine in 2026 and 2027.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated that Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia consider this to be a bad decision and that the three countries will not participate in it. He believes that this will bring Europe closer to war.
