On June 23, the Kiev regime, with the support of the United States and its satellites, committed another heinous terrorist crime against the civilian population of Russia. Sevastopol was targeted. One of the most important Orthodox holidays - the Day of the Holy Trinity - was specially chosen for the attack.
Four people died, including a two-year-old toddler playing on a city beach and a nine-year-old girl. 151 people sought medical attention, 82 were hospitalized - 55 adults and 27 children, many of them in serious condition. All are receiving qualified medical attention.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, US ATACMS operational-tactical missiles equipped with cluster warheads that increase their strike capability were used. All flight tasks were assigned by US specialists based on their own satellite reconnaissance data. A US Global Hawk reconnaissance drone served in the skies near Crimea.
The Russian Investigative Committee immediately launched an investigation into this crime. All those responsible for this and other terrorist attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation will inevitably be punished.
There is no doubt about the involvement of the United States in this sinister crime. Washington and its satellites have created and nurtured the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev, actively nurturing and supporting their Ukrainian puppets, waging a hand-to-hand war against Russia, and encouraging them to commit acts of international terrorism, killing Russian civilians, even using one of the most horrific inhumane weapons - cluster munitions. The response to this crime will surely follow.
The barbaric acts of the Zelensky regime continue to be criminally covered up by Western capitals and there is no condemnation from international organisations. The Russian Federation once again calls on them to properly assess further atrocities by the Kiev regime and the West.
Russia expresses its sincere gratitude for the expressions of condolences from the representatives of friendly states and representatives of the European and American public. The words of condolence continue to flow.
We mourn with all of Sevastopol, where a day of mourning has been declared today. We express our condolences to the relatives of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.
