TEHRAN, June 27. Iran has launched retaliatory strikes against U.S. military bases following attacks by Washington, according to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite force of the Iranian armed forces).

"In response to the aggression, the naval forces of the IRGC launched strikes against locations where U.S. military personnel are stationed in the region," the Tasnim news agency quoted the military as saying.

Earlier, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that it had carried out strikes on Iranian territory in response to an attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
