The Prevost's squirrel, also known as the beautiful squirrel (Callosciurus prevostii).
The Prevost's squirrel (Callosciurus prevostii) is a tree squirrel found in the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia.
In size, it is similar to the common European squirrel. Its body is approximately 25 cm long, with a tail of 27 cm. Larger individuals can weigh up to 500 grams. The original Czech name, "beautiful squirrel," likely referred to its distinctive coloration. It has black fur on its back and tail, a white stripe along its sides (which can run the entire length of the body or be interrupted in the chest area), and a brick-red belly and paws.
