PRAGUE - A beautiful and dignified cultural event was recently held in the heart of Prague to celebrate the arrival of the Chinese New Year of the Fire Horse. In the festively decorated Hybernia Theatre, culture lovers and friends of Sino-Czech friendship gathered to enjoy an evening of art, tradition and international dialogue.
The event was officially opened by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in the Czech Republic, Feng Biao, who in his opening speech expressed his hope that the cultural exchange between China and the Czech Republic will continue to grow and contribute to a deeper understanding between the two nations. The evening's program offered a wide range of unique performances. The audience was impressed by the captivating singers whose performances combined classical Chinese motifs with modern interpretations. This was followed by incredible acrobatic acts that literally kept the audience on the edge of their seats, and an impressive puppet show that enchanted children and adults alike.
Traditional Chinese calligraphy, where visitors could see the beauty and depth of Chinese writing, and dance, which combines history with modern expression, were also part of the festive programme. All these artistic elements blended harmoniously to create an atmosphere of joy, cultural pride and friendship. The event at the Hybernia Theatre attracted hundreds of visitors from local politicians, students and foreign guests. Among the invited guests were the leaders of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia Kateřina Konečná, Milan Krajča and Vojtěch Filip.
Visitors appreciated not only the high level of artistic performances, but also the opportunity to meet Chinese culture in a friendly and festive environment. The Chinese New Year celebrations in Prague thus confirmed that culture can transcend borders and strengthen mutual ties between nations. Dancing, singing, acrobatics and traditional arts showed how rich and inspiring cultural exchange can be.
