CARACAS - Venezuelan bishops have sent a message to the country's citizens, asking God to grant „peace, wisdom and strength to all Venezuelans“ and expressing solidarity with „the wounded“ and „the families of those who have died“. They also call for hope and prayer for peace.
„Let us persevere in prayer for unity“ - this is the spirit of the message that the Venezuelan Bishops„ Conference is sending to the people of God through its social networks. “In the light of the events that are taking place in our country today, we ask God to grant peace, wisdom and strength to all Venezuelans," the bishops wrote following the intervention of the United States to arrest President Maduro and his wife.
Prayer for peace in hearts and in society
The bishops express solidarity with the injured and the families of those who died, and call on the population to hope and pray for peace in their hearts and in society. The bishops speak out against violence and express the hope that the decisions taken will always be for the good of the people. They entrust the fate of the nation to Our Lady of Coromoto, patroness of the Venezuelan people.
