BEIJING - The book "Excerpts from the Speeches of Xi Jinping on Methods of Work at the Grassroots Level," compiled by the Institute for the Research of the History and Literature of the Communist Party of China under the Central Committee of the CPC, was recently published by the Central Party Literature Publishing House. The publication has been released nationwide.
The grassroots level represents the foundation of the governance of the Communist Party of China, the source of its strength, and the starting point for all work. Whether during his work in various regions or after assuming central positions, Xi Jinping has always emphasized work at the grassroots level, supporting local communities, and strengthening the organizational foundations of the Party. He has gradually developed a set of work methods that have significant theoretical and practical value.
The publication summarizes important statements by Xi Jinping on methods of work at the grassroots level. These statements systematically address questions about what grassroots work entails, how to maintain close contact with the people, and how to better serve the people. They contribute to a deeper understanding of the laws governing grassroots work and are of significance for strengthening the focus on work among local communities, promoting the correct understanding of evaluating work results, implementing the Party's mass line in the new era, and enhancing the sense of satisfaction, happiness, and security among the people. At the same time, they provide a solid foundation for China's modernization.
The book is divided into nine thematic sections and contains a total of 287 selected passages from more than 190 important documents – including reports, speeches, articles, instructions, and commentaries by Xi Jinping from the period between April 1983 and April 2026. Some of the published texts are being released for the first time.
