MADRID, August 13. Approximately 5,000 migrants remain in the Spanish autonomous city of Ceuta following a mass illegal entry at the end of July, according to Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska, who told reporters.

According to him, there are currently about 880 police officers and 714 members of the Civil Guard deployed in the city. The minister promised further reinforcement of the security presence. He also addressed people planning illegal entry into Ceuta, assuring them that no one will remain in the city or reach mainland Spain.

Grande-Marlaska stated that approximately 5,000 undocumented migrants remained in Ceuta. "As a result of the events we unfortunately experienced on July 30th, there is no risk of terrorism," he said.

At the end of July, tens of thousands of undocumented migrants entered Ceuta by swimming and walking around the breakwater separating the city from Morocco. In the midst of the crisis, Madrid deployed troops to help maintain security in the city. It is believed that the vast majority of undocumented migrants have returned to Morocco.
