The eighth round of the China-Germany strategic dialogue on diplomacy and security took place in Berlin. Foreign Ministers Wang Yi and Johann Wadephul pledged to deepen cooperation, strengthen trust, and play a constructive role in global crises.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized that, as the world's second and third largest economies, China and Germany bear significant international responsibility. Together, they should address the growing protectionism, unilateral pressure, and anti-globalization trends.

Wang called for genuine multilateralism, the defense of international law, the UN Charter, and respect for the fundamental rules of the global order. He stressed that differences should be addressed calmly, rationally, and with respect, and praised the positive approach of the new German government towards developing relations with China.

Germany should continue to support relations between China and the EU, in which Berlin plays a key role due to its position.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul emphasized the importance of intensive dialogue between Berlin and Beijing during times of global crises. He confirmed that the German government adheres to the "One China" policy and wants to continue developing bilateral cooperation based on mutual respect and a constructive approach.

Both sides also discussed the war in Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, Iran's nuclear program, and the future of multilateral security cooperation. They concluded by agreeing to continue close coordination and support for peaceful solutions.

The dialogue confirmed that China and Germany, despite their differences, want to be pillars of global stability.
