China has announced the dispatch of a second shipment of humanitarian aid to Nepal, which is grappling with the aftermath of a recent disaster. The assistance includes drones, water purification equipment, lighting systems, and DNA analysis equipment.
At a regular press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun made the statement in response to a question from China Media Group regarding further assistance from Beijing to the Nepalese side.
According to Guo Jiakun, providing emergency aid to affected areas and China's involvement in international cooperation during rescue operations is an expression of long-standing friendly relations between the two neighboring countries.
The second shipment will include equipment that Nepal urgently needs at this time, according to the Chinese side. In addition to drones and water purification equipment, it also includes instruments and reagents for DNA analysis.
At the same time, Chinese experts in DNA analysis will travel to the affected areas to work with their Nepalese colleagues on-site.
The aid is intended to supplement previous support that China has provided to Nepal in dealing with the aftermath of the disaster.
Guo Jiakun emphasized that Beijing wants to continue providing assistance and stand by Nepal during this current crisis.
"China will firmly stand by Nepal, together we will overcome these difficult times, and through concrete actions, we will demonstrate our traditional friendship between neighbors," said the spokesperson.
This additional shipment expands China's assistance, particularly in terms of technical and expert capabilities that can be used in search operations, identification of individuals, providing drinking water, and other rescue efforts in the affected areas.
