The spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Jian, responded to a question regarding the situation in Venezuela during a regular press conference. He stated that, according to the Chinese side, the United States unilaterally launched a military attack against Venezuela a month ago and forcibly took control of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.

According to Lin Jian, this is a hegemonic act that seriously violates international law, undermines Venezuela's sovereignty, and threatens stability in Latin America and the Caribbean. He stated that China strongly opposes such actions.

The spokesperson also emphasized that China supports Venezuela in defending its sovereignty, dignity, and legitimate rights. According to him, Beijing is ready to cooperate with the international community to protect the principles of the UN Charter, uphold the basic norms of international relations, and promote justice and equality in the international arena.
