The UN Security Council held a high-level public debate on the topic of Promoting International Peace and Security through Multilateralism and Peaceful Dispute Resolution, and unanimously adopted a resolution to strengthen the mechanism for peaceful dispute resolution.

The resolution calls on member states to effectively utilize the mechanisms for peaceful dispute resolution established in Chapter VI of the UN Charter, including negotiation, inquiry, conciliation, mediation, and other non-coercive means.

On the same day, China's Permanent Representative to the UN, Fu Song, delivered a speech at the high-level public debate of the Security Council, urging the international community to revitalize multilateralism and safeguard international peace and security.
