The China Media Group (CMG) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) today signed a long-term agreement in Guangzhou regarding the broadcasting rights for the Olympic Games from 2026 to 2032.
The agreement was signed on behalf of both parties by Shen Haixiong, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of CMG, and Kirsti Coventry, President of the IOC. Thomas Bach, Honorary President of the IOC, was present at the ceremony. The event also included the unveiling of the CMG logo for coverage of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Shen Haixiong presented the flag to the broadcasting and news team of CMG, the technical support team, and the marketing team for the 15th National Games of China. As the leading radio and television agency with exclusive rights to content across all media platforms, CMG will deploy a team of over 4,000 people to Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau for broadcasting, and a team of over 1,000 for news coverage, to ensure a world-class production and broadcast of the sporting events for viewers.
Shen emphasized that the Olympic spirit is an important part of human civilization and aligns with China's goal of modernizing the country in a Chinese way and building a community with a shared future for mankind. CMG plans to strengthen cooperation with the IOC in all areas and continue to support the development of the Olympic movement through the broadcasting of major events and the organization of sports and cultural activities.

Kirsti Coventry stated that her visit to China is her first since assuming the position of President of the IOC. The signing of the long-term agreement before the 15th National Games of China is of great significance and opens a new chapter in cooperation between the two parties. She expressed her expectation that, thanks to CMG's advanced technology for production and broadcasting, and its high-quality news coverage, viewers around the world will enjoy the pinnacle of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
At the same time, the official CMG logo for coverage of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games was also unveiled.
