As part of the Brazilian President's state visit to China, Brazil's First Lady Rosângela Lula da Silva, together with the wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Pen Liyuan, visited the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing.

The two ladies toured the architecture of the centre, visited the exhibition "The scene of unforgettable glory" and got acquainted with its activities in the field of international cultural exchange and popularisation of art. The visit culminated in an artistic performance - Excerpts from traditional Chinese opera and choral singing of Chinese and Brazilian songswhich they enjoyed together.

Cultural dialogue as a bridge of friendship

During the meeting, Pen Liyuan stressed that China and Brazil are both cultural superpowers, and highlighted the growing trend of bilateral exchanges in the field of culture and social contacts.
