China Media Group (CMG) successfully completed the second dress rehearsal of its Spring Festival Gala 2026 on Sunday. During it, the directing team carefully fine-tuned the creative elements to ensure that the performance exuded an atmosphere of happiness, well-being and New Year's joy. The program feels gentle and sincere, conveying a strong sense of the arrival of Chinese New Year and exuding the warmth and cheerfulness of family gatherings.
The gala scene enlivens everyday life in countless households. Original songs celebrate family ties, pay tribute to the quiet sacrifice of ordinary people and commemorate precious moments of reunion. Gentle and poignant melodies pay tribute to all those who work hard and give their best.
The Gala celebrates a commitment to family and country and shows the growing quality of life and vitality of a new era. A farmer's choir takes to the stage celebrating the joy of the harvest, where baskets of grain, golden ears of rice and bright red chillies paint a picture of autumnal abundance - singing with the confidence that comes from full supplies and a secure existence.

The performance combines mythological stories with ethnic elements, including a rendition of the happy little horse from the Chinese book Classic of Mountains and Seas. Children from different communities across China are joining their voices to express hope for the future. Familiar songs from Taiwan evoke shared memories between people on both sides of the Strait.
The festive atmosphere is growing every day. The CMG directing team will continue to fine-tune every detail - from program structure and technical integration to set design - in order to offer the audience a gala that is close to everyday life and brings warmth and joy. The Gala will celebrate the colourful and vibrant Year of the Horse on Chinese New Year with Chinese communities around the world and friends from different parts of the planet.
