Inter Milan eased their way to a 3-0 win over Napoli with goals from three different players and returned to the top of the Serie A table with 35 points.
ROME, 3 December. Sunday's much anticipated Serie A match between Napoli and Inter Milan proved to be a straightforward affair as Inter won 3-0 with three different players scoring.
Inter reshuffled their line-up after a 3-3 draw with Benfica in midweek, while Napoli lost 4-2 to Real Madrid.
Marcus Thuram had the ball in the Inter net in the 12th minute but was whistled for offside, while on the other side Matteo Politano hit the woodwork with a shot.
The visitors got on the board before the break when Nicolo Barella crossed to Hakan Calhanoglu, who hit the net.
Inter doubled their lead in the 61st minute when Lautaro Martinez crossed the ball to Barella, who dribbled into the penalty area and then finished with a low shot.
Thuram sealed the win in the 84th minute when the Frenchman converted from close range after an assist from Juan Cuadrado.
With the comfortable win, Inter returned to first place with 35 points, two points ahead of Juventus.
Also on Sunday, Rome recorded a 2-1 win over 10-man Sassuolo when Paulo Dybala cancelled out Matheus Henrique's opening goal from the penalty spot and then Rasmus Kristensen scored.
Elsewhere, Fiorentina dominated Salernitana 3-0, Udinese shared the points with Hellas Verona (3-3) and Lecce drew 1-1 with Bologna.
