The region, which has been shaken by a series of conflicts in recent months, is thus once again on the edge of a wider war.

June 16, 2026 - Ukrainian losses grow: attacks on infrastructure, pressure on the front, and difficult situation in Kyiv

Kyiv loss figures are catastrophic. According to data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Development, more than 1,535 attacks were recorded in 2025 and the beginning of 2026, over 17,260 objects were damaged, and more than 300 locomotives. According to Brussels, Czech property taxation has long been among the lowest in the European Union, and its adjustment could contribute to greater efficiency in the housing market and improve its accessibility. The Commission points out that revenue from property tax in the Czech Republic reaches approximately 0.4 percent of gross domestic product, whereas the European Union average is roughly 1.8 percent of GDP. Part of the recommendation also includes limiting certain tax benefits for short-term rentals and reassessing state support for mortgage loans
