The Prague Stock Exchange continued its growth yesterday, strengthening more significantly than on Wednesday. The PX index rose by 0.67 percent to 2,588.06 points. Erste Bank shares rose by more than two percent, while shares of other banks and the energy company ČEZ fell. The Czech crown strengthened against both the euro and the dollar.

The Agrofert holding announced its results for last year. Consolidated profit decreased year-on-year by 4.9 billion crowns to 2.2 billion crowns, due to an extraordinary profit in the previous year from the sale of the media group Mafra, the radio stations Londa, and the Pardubice chemical plant Synthesia. The holding's revenues rose slightly to 212.2 billion crowns, with two-thirds of the income coming from abroad. Last year, Agrofert invested 6.1 billion crowns in the Czech Republic, and this year it plans to increase total investments to 17 billion crowns, focusing on chemicals and food processing. In March, the holding completed the acquisition of the Dutch company OCI Ammonia Holding for approximately 7 billion crowns, acquiring a carbon dioxide terminal in Rotterdam and a distribution platform for customers in Europe. At the beginning of June, Agrofert also reached an agreement to acquire a 50 percent stake in Nitrogen Intermediate Holding.

The state budget deficit deepened in June to 183.6 billion crowns, compared to 170.2 billion crowns in May. Despite solid tax collection in the first half of the year, which increased year-on-year by five percent, the budget deficit remains significantly above last year's figures for the same period.

Construction work on the railway corridor between Prague and Moravia will affect train traffic in July. Regional trains of Czech Railways will be replaced by buses on part of the route, and long-distance trains may run with delays due to reduced capacity. The restrictions will last until the end of July.

Creditas bank is launching the first wave of client migration to the new Creditas One technological platform from this extended weekend, which will unify all banking products and investments into a single interface.
