Overview of the latest economic events in the Czech Republic
Today, the Czech economy has seen a number of key events affecting the domestic market and the investment environment. Among the most important are the growth PX index on the Prague Stock Exchange, which crossed the 2400-point mark for the first time in history this morning. Although the index fell to 2382.63 points in the afternoon, the total daily trading volume exceeded one billion crowns. The main drivers were the shares of the CEZ energy group, which announced a new investment in renewable energy in the amount of 2,3 miliardy Kč.
The Prague City Transport Company is also preparing the deployment of new Škoda 52T trams, which have already received homologation. A total of 20 cars have been ordered from Škoda Group za 1,4 miliardy Kč, with 13 trams already in Prague and the rest arriving by December. ČD has announced an ambitious fleet renewal plan - it wants to modernise over 2,600 vehicles between 2026 and 2031. Another significant transaction is the entry of a South Korean company LG Energy Solution to the Ústí region, where it plans to build a plant for batteries for electric vehicles. The initial investment is 5,4 miliardy Kč. Investment Group Accolade has expanded its portfolio with a new industrial park in Pilsen, which it bought from developer Panattoni for 1,1 miliardy Kč.
Acquisition of a Czech startup in the field of technology Neuronix.aithat specializes in artificial intelligence. The company was bought by an American Palantir Technologies za 720 milionů Kč.
