ANKARA - U.S. President Donald Trump, during a NATO summit in Ankara on Tuesday, stated that the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran had, in his opinion, "already ended."

When asked by journalists, Donald Trump said that he considers the memorandum to be terminated and will inform the U.S. negotiating team about his position. He also stated that he no longer wants to negotiate with the Iranian side.

The United States and Iran published the official text of the memorandum of understanding on June 17, with the texts of both sides being essentially identical. The document obligated both countries to begin negotiations and reach a final agreement within 60 days.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated on June 18 that the memorandum of understanding signed remotely between Iran and the United States came into effect immediately.
