Can you believe that waste can have a second life - like biodiesel or paving stones? At the Chaoyang Circular Economy Industrial Park, this combination of modern technology and sustainability is becoming a reality.
Turning waste into valuable raw materials is not just a slogan, but a daily practice. How does it all work? Let's take a closer look.
I am now at the Chaoyang waste treatment plant and I must say that the first impression is surprising. A place where one would expect to find a mess and an unpleasant smell looks clean and tidy. There is hardly a smell in the air and the whole environment is more like a modern technology centre than a traditional „landfill“. This makes it all the more curious to find out what goes on behind these walls.
