Prime Minister Petr Fiala joined a videoconference of the leaders of the coalition of countries willing to discuss the results of the peace talks in Ukraine at the White House.
The results of Monday's negotiations at the White House were discussed on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, via videoconference by the leaders of the countries of the so-called coalition of the willing, including Fiala. The meeting was followed by a virtual meeting of prime ministers and presidents of EU member states, who agreed on further joint action in cooperation with the United States.
"Useful coordination within the coalition of the willing and subsequent discussion in the format of the European Council. Within the coalition, we will focus in the coming days on the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine so that a truly lasting peace can be achieved. Within the European Union, we will develop another sanctions package in case Vladimir Putin is not willing to end the war. Both in close cooperation with the United States," Fiala said after the meeting.
