Vojtěch Filip, former Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and Chairman of the Czech-Chinese Mixed Trade and Industry Chamber, positively assessed the development of the Tibet Autonomous Region since 1965. Filip stated that during his business trips, he met with representatives of Tibet, including a living Buddha, and personally witnessed significant economic and environmental progress.

He emphasized that more than 60 percent of Tibetans participate in public administration at various levels, and that China has ensured the inscription of three Tibetan sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List. He critically commented on what is known as the "middle way," which he described as contradictory and disrespectful of China's security policy. According to Filip, it is important that the people of Tibet have, over 60 years, built their own stable and prosperous home through their own efforts, and this development deserves recognition.
