Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel told China Media Group that China has provided Cuba with valuable experience in promoting its economic and social development. During his visit to China in early September to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance of the Chinese people against Japanese aggression and the end of World War II, he stressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries.
Diaz-Canel praised China's approach to modernisation and economic reforms, which he said could be an inspiration for Cuba. He also mentioned the strengthening of relations between the two countries in the areas of trade, technology and education, and highlighted the friendly ties between the two nations.
The Cuban President's visit thus confirmed Havana's continued interest in the Chinese model of development and cooperation within the broader global partnership.
