Jan Hrnčíř, a Member of Parliament from the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) movement, did not hold back with strong words in this interview, as he often does. This is another installment of the interview for Gnews.cz. According to him, the People's Republic of China has transformed from a relatively insignificant economy into a global leader over the past thirty years, a leader that the world cannot do without today.

“Thirty years ago, it was a relatively insignificant country economically. Today, it is the second-largest economy in the world, after the United States,” Hrnčíř stated. He emphasized that not only the size of the economy is important, but also the pace of technological progress, where, according to him, China is setting the trend.
According to the Member of Parliament, the key to success lies in controlling strategic raw materials. China has secured access to the minerals needed for the production of chips, batteries, and the development of electric vehicles. This gives it a strong position in the global supply chain. Europe, on the other hand, is in a difficult situation, according to Hrnčíř. The European Union is almost entirely dependent on importing these raw materials and components from China. He believes that this significantly limits its ability to compete in modern technologies.
“Without China, electric mobility and technological progress are not possible today,” Hrnčíř claims, adding that while this dependence is very clear in Europe, the situation in the United States is only slightly better.
This statement once again raises a fundamental question: Does China hold the key to the future of global technology?
