On October 8, 2025, CPC Central Committee Politburo member and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Italian Vice Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in Rome.
During the meeting, Wang Yi said that this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy. Over the past half century, China and Italy have developed high-level practical cooperation, promoted high-quality cultural and personnel exchanges, and built a fruitful comprehensive strategic partnership.
The history of Sino-Italian relations convincingly proves that open cooperation and joint development efforts are the right choice for both sides, based on their cultural genes and practical needs, which is in line with the fundamental and long-term interests of both sides and in line with the common will of both peoples.
China is willing to work with Italy to strengthen confidence, remove distractions, actively implement the Action Plan, strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership, achieve further results in bilateral cooperation and promote the economic development of the two countries.
