Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh met with member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Ulaanbaatar. The discussions focused on further development of Mongolian-Chinese relations, economic cooperation, and coordination on international issues.
President Khürelsükh asked Wang Yi to convey warm greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping and emphasized that relations between Mongolia and China are, in his view, an example of good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation. He also stated that Mongolia firmly adheres to the "one China" policy, considers Taiwan to be an integral part of Chinese territory, and supports further strengthening cooperation with China in regional and international affairs.
Wang Yi, at the meeting, conveyed greetings from Xi Jinping and stated that China considers the development of relations with Mongolia to be an important part of its neighborhood diplomacy. He recalled that both countries are permanent neighbors and comprehensive strategic partners, and therefore should further strengthen political trust and practical cooperation.
According to Wang Yi, the Chinese side intends to expand cooperation with Mongolia, especially in the areas of infrastructure connectivity, energy, mining, trade, and investment. At the same time, it wants to explore new opportunities for cooperation in the sectors of critical raw materials, green development, and the digital economy.
Both sides also expressed a willingness to strengthen coordination on multilateral platforms. According to statements from the meeting, Mongolia and China want to jointly contribute to a more just system of global governance and to greater stability in the region.
