From 18 to 20 November, the second meeting of the working group and the annual meeting of the China-US military security consultation mechanism for 2025 were held in Hawaii, USA.
Both sides reached an important consensus between the two heads of state and, on the basis of equality and respect, engaged in candid and constructive exchanges of views, particularly on the current situation regarding maritime and airspace security between China and the United States, examined typical cases of encounters between the two countries' maritime and air forces, assessed the annual implementation of the Code of Conduct for the Safety of China-US Maritime and Airspace Encounters, discussed measures to improve the safety of China-US maritime space, and exchanged views on the theme of the 2026 working group meeting.
