PRAGUE/ASTANA - Prime Minister Andrej Babiš will pay an official visit to Kazakhstan on 26 April, where he will meet with representatives of the government there. The main objective of the visit will be to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the economic and energy sectors, which have long been among the priority pillars of cooperation between the two countries.
According to available information, the talks are expected to focus on expanding business opportunities for Czech companies, particularly in the engineering, infrastructure and energy technology sectors. The Czech Republic is interested in deepening its exports and strengthening its position in the Central Asian market, while Kazakhstan is seeking to diversify its economy and modernise its industrial base. Energy will be one of the main topics of the meeting. The supply of raw materials, opportunities for cooperation in the oil, gas and nuclear energy sectors are to be discussed.
The Czech side can offer technological solutions and know-how, while Kazakhstan has significant mineral reserves and a strategic location. Expectations from the visit are high on both sides. The Czech Republic hopes to conclude specific trade agreements and open new investment projects. Kazakhstan, on the other hand, expects foreign investment to come in and technological cooperation to be strengthened to support its long-term economic goals. The Prime Minister's visit thus represents an important step towards strengthening bilateral relations and confirming the interest of both countries in pragmatic and economically oriented cooperation.
