At the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Lejone Mpotjoane, Wang Yi, Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Lesotho on 10 and 11 January 2026.
During the meeting, both sides highly appreciated the progress made in the development of bilateral relations between China and Lesotho and reaffirmed their determination to take the strategic partnership between the two countries to a higher level.
The Kingdom of Lesotho has expressed support for the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilisation Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative, as put forward by President Xi Jinping. Lesotho commended these initiatives as significant contributions to stability and security in the current turbulent world.
At the end of the visit, the two countries jointly issued a press statement by the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho.
