China defends itself against the threat of further 50% tariffs from the US

BEIJING - China's Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday condemned the US threat to impose additional 50 percent tariffs on China.

The looming additional tariffs are a mistake on top of a mistake, the ministry said in a statement, calling on the US to immediately correct its erroneous practices and cancel all unilateral tariffs.

China hopes the US can resolve differences through dialogue based on mutual respect, it added.
