WASHINGTON - President-elect Donald Trump has been preparing more than 100 executive orders since his first day in the White House, amounting to a shocking campaign of border security, deportations and other policy priorities.
Trump told Republican senators during a private meeting on Capitol Hill about the upcoming onslaught. Many of those measures are expected to be launched on Inauguration Day, January 20, when he takes office. Trump's senior adviser Stephen Miller outlined to GOP senators the border security and immigration enforcement measures likely to be launched first. Axios first reported on the presentation by Trump and his team.
"There will be a considerable number of them," said Senator John Hoeven, R-ND.
The president-elect's allies are preparing a stack of executive orders that Trump could quickly sign, covering a wide range of topics - from sealing the U.S.-Mexico border to energy development to federal rules for Schedule F employees, school gender policy and mandatory vaccinations, among other promises from the first day of his campaign.
