Gaza Ministry of Health: psychiatric and ophthalmology hospitals destroyed in the enclave
Psychiatric and ophthalmology hospitals were destroyed during Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) airstrikes in the Gaza Strip. This was reported on 6 November by the Palestinian enclave's Ministry of Health.
"The occupiers attacked the only psychiatric and ophthalmology hospital in the Gaza Strip, most of which were destroyed," TASS news agency quoted him as saying.
Earlier, on November 5, Palestinian Health Minister May Kaile said that due to the rising number of casualties as a result of ongoing Israeli strikes, the Gaza Strip needs field hospitals in the enclave. She noted that the health situation in the Gaza Strip is dire.
Earlier, on 31 October, the Palestinian Red Crescent announced new Israeli airstrikes on the area around Al-Quds Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. It was reported that the building was shaking and civilians and work crews were experiencing fear and panic. This hospital had already come under fire on 29 October.
On 26 October, Abdelkaraim Essalout, the chief surgeon at Al-Aqsa Hospital in the Gaza Strip, said that there is an acute shortage of necessary medicines due to the large number of wounded. The doctor added that sometimes surgeons are forced to perform operations without anesthesia not only on adults but also on children.
