The ancient Greek term "psychosomatics" has recently, and without much fanfare (unlike, for example, homeopathy or traditional, non-toxic medicine), been incorporated into mainstream scientific medicine and the insurance-based healthcare system. However, it seems to have become stagnant, content to simply exist. If it were to truly assert itself in its profound philosophical essence, it would significantly disrupt the stagnant waters of the dogmatic, chemically-technical approach to disease and its treatment.
The fundamental principle of life, of the universe, is very simple: MIND ORGANIZES MATTER. This includes our physical bodies. This seemingly rebellious idea doesn't fit well with the materialistic religion of medicine based on evidence. Therefore, medical elites and professional organizations treat psychosomatics with a degree of tolerance, considering it a relatively harmless and, in some milder cases, a functioning medical discipline. You can often hear them, in their professional settings, nodding sagely and saying: "This is likely of psychological origin," "It's all in your head," "Your problems are probably due to stress," "You need to clear your head…" etc. But in doing so, they are essentially demonstrating the limits of their knowledge and masking their diagnostic and therapeutic uncertainties. Consequently, in the vast majority of cases, complex patients are referred to psychiatry (rather than a psychosomatic therapist), where they are almost always prescribed psychotropic medications, which, by their very nature, never contribute to healing and certainly never to understanding the illness.
So, how does the mind organize the matter of our bodies? Their cells, tissues, organs, and systems? One of the fundamental mechanisms is the creation of neuropeptides in brain neurons. In other words, any thought, emotion, idea, or feeling automatically triggers the synthesis of a unique chain of amino acid molecules. These molecules then travel through the bloodstream to target cells, where they "unlock" a specific biochemical reaction. If this process repeats frequently and for a prolonged period, it generates a pathological symptom, and eventually, what is known as a disease.
I feel it's time to switch to more common language, I apologize…
Let's learn to live the truth, so that our bodies don't have to show it to us!"
Let's start with an example (from real life, as they say): I'm angry, but I don't want everyone to know it. I'm bothered by a certain situation, this or that, him or her. I have strong opinions that I definitely won't change, even for those "idiots." I disagree with them, but I'll remain calm. Even though I'm constantly annoyed, I won't stoop to primitive emotions... and so, my brain repeatedly produces special "anger molecules" that arrange themselves into a perfect "key." This key fits into liver cells, which are responsible for bile production. Under the constant signal, the bile will become unnaturally thick (because I'm also, in a way, "thick-headed"), and after a while, my gallbladder will be full of greenish-yellow sludge. And because I stubbornly refuse to change my ways, I'll slowly start forming gallstones. These stones will obstruct the flow of bile into the duodenum, where it needs to emulsify large molecules of animal fats so they can be absorbed into the bloodstream in the small intestine, allowing my body to use them meaningfully, for example, to protect and nourish the nervous system. So, after a fatty meal, complex clusters of lipid molecules will end up in the large intestine, where they will cause problems and rot! One of the products of this process will be methane. This will cause me to be incredibly bloated and often rush to the toilet. I'll feel terrible and frustrated. And so, my intestines are kindly reflecting the state of my mind. (I smile.) Furthermore, after an inappropriate meal and the pressure of bile from the stones, gallbladder pain can occur, and I'll finally get angry. This is how psychosomatic laws can work. The body is always truthful – unlike us. If we voluntarily learn to live truthfully, the body won't have to show us the truth. THAT is psychosomatics. No magic. It's as clear as day. Behave naturally. That's all it wants from us at this basic level. Don't expect enlightenment right away (I chuckle). That will only happen if you don't even think about it, and you are simply kind and playful, simpler and more direct.
Every single thought has a unique material reflection and effect. On the surface of cells, we have receptors. These receptors are diverse and specific, depending on their type and function. They are like locks for those "brain keys." And these keys then create openings, openings... that's how illness arises, and that's how the mind organizes matter. For example, in the kidneys, we have receptors for fears, but also for relationship insecurities, etc. – millions of possibilities and problems, countless diagnoses. However, diseases don't actually exist. We only create unpleasant physical and mental states that can disappear if we understand and control our minds... and this is something a doctor or someone knowledgeable in psychosomatic science should explain to us.
Every thought has a unique material reflection and effect.
There are other, more subtle ways in which our consciousness influences the body. For example, through elemental energies, or prana or chi, which is vital energy flowing, or possibly stagnating, in energy pathways (meridians). Traditional Chinese medicine can be a great diagnostic and therapeutic tool here, but the president of the Czech Medical Chamber authoritatively declared that it's quackery. But we won't get unnecessarily upset about that. And we won't create those unpleasant molecular "chips." We'll rise above it, create positive visions and thoughts, laugh, even at ourselves, we won't be serious, we'll be open to the game of life and enjoy a sense of perspective. This is how we'll create healing molecules. Of course, the mind also organizes matter (bodies) in this way, i.e., in a HEALING way!
It works in both directions. We can have a toxic, destructive, and chaotic impact on our surroundings, but we can also have a harmonious and beneficial one. And remember, our fundamental duty on this Earth is to PLAY! To embody the principle of life: constant innovation, imagination, and playfulness. If you realize and accept this, you will experience immense relief, and it will elevate you from rigid opinions to a cheerful perspective. I bid you farewell, and I'm laughing as I write this.
