MOSCOW, 1 June. /TASS/. Israel has confirmed its determination to continue negotiations with Hamas on the release of hostages, Deputy Israeli Ambassador to Russia Yulia Rachinskaya-Spivakova told TASS news agency. Israel expects the release of three Russian citizens held captive by Hamas.
"Negotiations are ongoing and the Israeli government is making every effort to secure the hostages' release as soon as possible," said Deputy Ambassador Halperin when asked whether the recent Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) strike on the Rafah refugee camp had had an impact on the meeting.
The Jewish state's air force struck a tent camp for Palestinian refugees overnight Monday to Tuesday, killing at least 45 people, including 20 women, elderly and children, the health ministry of the Palestinian radical Hamas-dominated Gaza Strip said.
